A popular, historic house is getting into the holiday spirit.

The Craik-Patton House in Charleston hosted a "Civil War Christmas" this weekend.

The home was decorated with old-timey decorations.

There was a presentation by Jim Getty as Abraham Lincoln, and a speech on Lincoln's role in West Virginia Statehood.

Organizers said they wanted people who attended to get a feel of the historic period.

"We are keeping with the time period of the house. They would have used a lot of live greenery and fresh fruits and feathers, lots of feathers," said Bri Jackson, Craik-Patton House.

The Craik- Patton House is open for tours year-round, Mon.-Fri. from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
