Bridgton, ME (PRWEB) December 05, 2012
Colder temperatures at Shawnee Peak means the snow guns are roaring. The mountain fired-up the snow guns over the weekend and has already been able to build up a solid base.
Shawnee Peak boasts 98% snowmaking and is working to take advantage of any stretch of cold that Mother Nature may offer. "It may be mild where you are, but up here in the mountains, conditions are perfect for snow," says Shawnee Peak's General Manager Ed Rock.
The resort, one of Maine's oldest, will be celebrating it's 75th anniversary and is offering guests all sorts of new amenities this year.
"We have extended our beginner slopes, lengthened the Magic Carpet and expanded our free Wi-Fi," says Rock, "there's also all sorts events planned to celebrate our 75th anniversary. It's a great time to be at Shawnee Peak!"
Shawnee Peak is expecting to open for the 2013 ski season on December 15th.
