Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies were called to McNally's Pub in Cross Lanes early Wednesday morning Dec. 5 after a man reported a large fight involving 12-13 people with knives and bottles.
Two officers were across the street and went directly over. Once inside, they only found six patrons and no one fighting.
The bartender told deputies they had just kicked out a patron for harassing female patrons. He gave a description to the deputies who found Jay Christopher Hosier, 24, of Anderson, IN, about a mile from the bar.
When confronted, Hosier denied calling 911 and reporting the fight, but after the deputy discovered Hosier dialed 911 at 00:09a from his phone, Hosier admitted making the call.
Hosier refused to give deputies personal information about himself. He was charged with public intoxication, obstructing an officer and making a false report of an emergency.
