Performances of the holiday comedy "Inspecting Carol," are being presented by Oglebay Institute's Towngate Theatre at 8 p.m. Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 14-15.

Written by Daniel Sullivan, "Inspecting Carol" follows a theater company's troubled annual production of "A Christmas Carol." Like a dysfunctional family, the theater group is made up of eccentric characters taking themselves way too seriously as they bicker, whine and occasionally rebel. This satire of theater and art is a laugh out loud spoof with a cast of individuals that could be part of any group at home, work or school.

Call 304-242-7700 to reserve seats. For those buying seats at the door, Towngate's box office opens one hour before all shows and can be reached at 304-233-0820.

Towngate is located at 2118 Market Street in Wheeling.
