CHARLESTON, WV -

Seven new associates have joined Jackson Kelly offices in West Virginia, four of them in the firm's Charleston office.

Alyssa E. Baute earned her law degree with honors, and a certificate in intellectual property with honors, from the University of Dayton School of Law in May. She earned her bachelor of arts degree with honors from Miami University in 2009. She double-majored in mass communication and political science.

Emily M. Renzelli's practice focuses on environmental and energy issues as well as general litigation matters. Renzelli earned her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2012.  

Before attending law school, she researched climate change issues in Malawi. Renzelli earned her bachelor of arts degree in political science and philosophy from West Virginia University in 2008. 

Renzelli graduated summa cum laude, was named Outstanding Senior by WVU and won recognition from USA Today as an Academic All American. In 2013, Renzelli will serve as a judicial clerk for federal Judge Irene M. Keeley in the Northern District of West Virginia.

Adam J. Schwendeman earned his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. He earned his bachelor of arts degree in political science from Ohio University in 2008 with a minor in history.

Andrew S. Felts earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law. Felts earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009 where he majored in political science. 

Three other new associates are practicing elsewhere in West Virginia. Joy Einstein is an associate in the firm's Wheeling office. She earned her law degree from the William & Mary School of Law in 2011. She worked as a law clerk for Magistrate Judge James Seibert in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. 

Einstein earned a bachelor of arts degree in French from The College of William & Mary in 2006.

Brian Jett is an associate in the Land and Natural Resource Development Practice Group in the firm's Morgantown office. Jett earned his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law in May. Jett earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Fairmont State University in May of 2008, graduating cum laude.

Chris D. Petersen is an associate in the firm's Martinsburg office. Petersen received his law degree from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in May. He graduated magna cum laude and received awards in environmental law and for his pro bono work in the Salt Lake City community. Petersen earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Shepherd University in May of 2008, graduating cum laude.
