The West Liberty University Economics Club Lecture Series
continues this month with Charles Kesler, an Oak Hill native and senior fellow
of the Claremont Institute.
The presentation will take place at noon at River City,
located at 1400 Main St. in Wheeling. It is open to the public.
Kesler will discuss his book, "I am the Change: Barack Obama
and the Crisis of Liberalism."
Kesler is editor of the Claremont Review of Books and also
professor of government at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif.
Kesler received his bachelor's degree in social studies and
then his master and doctoral degrees in government all from Harvard University.
He was selected in June of 2000 as a member of The Scholars Commission on the
Jefferson-Hemmings Issue, sponsored by The Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society.
Kesler's wife, Sally Pipes, is president of the Pacific
Research Institute, and she addressed the University Economics Club in 2011.
Kesler is editor of "Saving the Revolution: The Federalist
Papers and the American Founding," and co-editor, with William F. Buckley, Jr.,
of "Keeping the Tablets: Modern American Conservative Thought."
He also regularly contributes to the opinion pages of The
Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times.
