A sleeping suspect woke up to Kanawha County deputies and charges of operating a meth lab.
According to the press release, deputies received a tip that Corey Cranfield, 24, was operating a meth lab at his home near Sissonville. When deputies arrived to search the house, the found Cranfield asleep in a nearby building.
Deputies said they found several items in Cranfield's backpack and clothing used in the sale and manufacture if illegal drugs, including scales, packing materials, and metal plates with power residue. In an ammo can they found iodine bottles, hydrogen peroxide, and a substance deputies believe to be meth.
Deputies weighed the suspected meth and estimated its street value at more than $3,000. Cranfield was charged with operating a clandestine meth lab and possession of meth with intent to deliver.
