Decorated for Christmas, the Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History in Parkersburg is adorned not so much as a 21st century holiday but as an international tour with Victorian influences. International trees greet museum visitors throughout December.

"We have trees decorated to represent Germany, Russia, Scotland, England, Ireland, America, Spain, China, Japan, Africa, Greece, Sweden, Canada, Mexico, France, Ukraine, and Jessie Tree (Israel)," according to Pam Salisbury, event coordinator for Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park. "We also have trees that represent different holiday eras or traditions: Victorian, Kwanzaa, spirit of Christmas (religious theme), state bird (cardinal) and pioneer or colonial America."

The Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History, located at 137 Juliana St., will be open through Dec. 23, Tuesday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. The museum reopens for the 2013 season Jan. 2.

The island and sternwheeler rides resume operation May 1. Standard admission fee for the museum is $4 for adults and $2 for children.
