A new EMS station will be named after a director who has helped build several facilities.
Cabell county commissioners decided in Thursday's meeting to name the new Barboursville EMS station the "A. Gordon Merry EMS Station at Barboursville".
County Manager Chris Tatum says they wanted to name it after the man who has been instrumental in working to build stations closer to areas to better serve the public and have faster response times.
Ground was broken on the new station in September and is expected to be finished next year.
