A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
Kanawha County named its "Deputy of The Year" on Thursday evening.
Deputy C.D. Lyons was honored during the county commission meeting. Sheriff Mike Rutherford presented Lyons the award.
Lyons has been a deputy with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department for five years. This is the second time he's been nominated for the award. The first nomination came two years ago.
Lyons said he was surprised when he learned he'd won the ward this year. He credited the team of co-workers on his shift for their success. "I couldn't have done it without my shift. You know, they help me out tremendously, so you know, it's an individual award but not really," said Lyons.
Lyons recently broke an ATV theft ring in Sissonville.
