Wayne County voters have rejected a school bond levy.

The bond would have provided more than $30 million for school improvements across the county, including new athletic facilities.

The West Virginia School Building Authority would have pledge an additional $20 million if the levy passed.

Election officials said a little more than 1,700 voted in favor of the bond levy, and more than 4,000 people voted against it.
