One church in the Charleston area is trying to help people who live in poverty around the world.
First Presbyterian Church in Charleston opened "Hope Village." The village is a market for handmade goods from around the world.
All of the items at the market are handmade and every penny goes directly back to the artisans who made it. The church hopes to help people that live on 60 cents to a dollar a day.
Mary Kay Boyle, directory of "Hope Village," says, "It's being able to send back to the people so they can provide food and clothing and shelter for their families. So it is a great honor to be a part of this."
Shopping times, for the holidays, will be on Sundays, after worship, Wed., Fri. and Sat. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Thurs. from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
