Mingo County deputies continue search for 2 home invasion suspects

Authorities are still looking for two men, still on the loose after a string of home invasions in Mingo County.

The Mingo County Sheriff's Department has arrested the grandfather of one of the suspects in two recent home invasions in the northern part of the county.'

Deputies identified the two suspects are Danny Colegrove of Laurel Creek and James Messer of Jennings Creek. Lloyd Newsome is Colegrove's grandfather.

Newsome was arrested on Friday, December 14 according to deputies. He posted bond on Monday. Newsome is charged with one felony count of receiving stolen goods.

Deputies believe Newsome helped hide guns that Colegrove and Messer stole. People in the community said they're fed up with the crime. "I think it's time for us, as citizens, and the working people to stand behind the authorities, and help them in any way we can," said Terri Blake, owner of T&D Quickstop.
