Teachers, parents and students met a Crum Middle School Monday to discuss how a bond levy aimed towards building them a new school failed to pass.
They say a special election was held this weekend to help pass a bond levy that would help them build a new K-8 school building.
Teachers say the building was built in 1939 and is in disrepair.
They say the building needs new electrical and plumbing systems along with a new roof.
Some parents say they've had to keep their children out of school from being exposed to mold.
Money from the bond would have been used for a new building, but failed to pass by a landslide.
Principal Sherri Brewer says she thinks the building is one of the oldest in the state.
The group plans to attend the Wayne county Board of Education meeting Tuesday evening to have their opinions heard.
