Nitro felon sentenced for pawning stolen gun

CHARLESTON, West Virginia -

A Nitro felon was sentenced Monday to four years and nine days in federal prison for possessing a firearm.

John Schoonover, 40, admitted to authorities he pawned a stolen 12-gauge shotgun at Will's Jewelry & Loan in August 2011. Schoonover was previously convicted in September 2008 of conspiracy to commit first degree arson in Putnam County. 

Charleston Police conducted the investigation.
