Troubled past could force Charleston nightclub to close

Posted: Updated:

Too much crime may cause a Charleston nightclub to be shut down. City officials want to close down Impulse, a club on Capitol Street.

A 23-year-old was stabbed in the neck inside the bar on Sunday, December 16, according to a police report.

Bar owner, Janet Amores has said that's not true and that the stabbing took place outside the establishment.

Charleston Mayor Danny Jones told 13News that the bar has been a trouble spot for too long. He's calling for changes to the way the city grants permits in the future.

Sunday's incident resulted in minor injuries according to the police report.
