Two new board members joined the I-79 Development Council this month — Arria Whiston and Thomas E. Bush III.
Whiston is president/CEO of Allegheny Science & Technology, a management and tech solutions company offering solutions to federal, state and local governments, federal civilian agencies and commercial clients in areas such as project management, financial analysis, software and systems engineering, training and simulation, and specialized scientific, engineering and technical support.
She has more than two decades of experience in program management, project control and operations management.
Prior to starting Allegheny, she was a key strategic contributor at SAIC as director of programs, providing management oversight for an operation exceeding $120 million in annual revenue. Her project management experience ranges from software/systems engineering to the construction of an 18-hole Arnold Palmer-designed golf course.
She has a bachelor's degree in accounting from West Virginia Wesleyan College and her MBA from West Virginia University.
Bush served with the FBI for more than 33 years, including time handling bank robberies, fugitives, violent crimes, drug and civil rights investigations.
Eventually, Bush was promoted to supervise the day-to-day operation of the largest division of the FBI, with more than 2,500 employees, and a budget of approximately $1 billion.
He retired in 2009 and later established a consulting business, Tom Bush Consulting.
The board for the non-profit council meets in the Robert H. Mollohan Building in the I-79 Technology Park just south of Fairmont.
