$70,000 was donated Thursday to the Mountaineer Food Bank, following the Governor's One Shot Deer Hunt charity event.
The money will purchase venison to feed needy families, as a part of the Hunters Helping the Hungry Program through the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
The One Shot Deer Hunt is a guided antlerless deer hunt on private property in Lewis County. This is the 6th annual hunt. In 2010 and 2011, the hunt has raised $75,000.
