The Fayette County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in the Deepwater area of Fayette County.

Dispatchers say it all happened just after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012.

Deputies were called to the scene and were told two people had come to the house, knocked on the door, saying their vehicle had been broken-into and asking to use the telephone.

When the homeowner opened the door, a male subject and a female forced their way into the residence.

Deputies say the suspects brandished a handgun and a hammer and demanded "money and pills."

The suspects looked through the victims' prescription medication but did not take any of them. They stole an undisclosed amount of money and then fled from the scene.

No one was injured during this incident.

The male suspect was described as white, medium build, approximately 6ft to 6ft 5in tall, dressed in dark clothing. He wore a ski mask to disguise his facial features. The second was a white female, skinny to medium build, approximately 5ft tall, with dark hair. She wore a scarf wrapped around her face to disguise her facial features.

The male suspect was reportedly armed with a dark-colored semi-automatic pistol and the female was armed with a wooden claw-hammer. The suspects fled from the scene in a small passenger car.

Anyone having any information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Fayette County 911 Center or the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.
