A man wanted for murder was arrested around 7:00 a.m. on Dec. 25.

Richard Bernard Hilliard, 24, of Kanawha County was arrested at a gas station on the west side of Charleston.

Hilliard was wanted in connection to the murder of David Jabot Booker, 26, of Charleston.

On October 11, Booker was found dead in a Milton Street alley way on the East End of Charleston.

Booker had been shot in the head.  Police believe the shooting was drug related.

Hilliard has now been charged with first degree murder.

According to court documents, police found parts of a white vehicle at the murder scene.  A witness told authorities Hilliard was driving a white vehicle around the night of Booker's death.

The witness also told police Hilliard said he 'wished he could take back what he did', according to court documents.

Police later found a white Honda Accord with damage to the front driver side, consistent with the car parts found at the murder scene.

The witness told police Hilliard drove the white Honda Accord on October 11.

Police also found blood inside of the vehicle.

Hilliard is in the South Central Regional Jail.  He's being held without bail until his next court hearing.
