UPDATE:
The break in the water line has been fixed and the boil water advisory has been lifted.
A water main break in Kenova along US 52 has caused an interruption of service to customers in the area.
According to the Kenova Municipal Water System, there is a boil water advisory for residents who live along US 52 south of Cedar Run Road along Whites Creek Road, Centerville Road, Gilkerson Branch Road, Davis Branch Road, Upper and Lower Gragston Creek Road and Ballangee Branch Road.
If you live in these areas, do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil for at least one minute and let it cool before using it, or use bottle water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinks, making ice, brushing teeth. doing dishes, bathing and food preparation.
Boiling will kill bacteria and other organisms in the water.
