Neighbors react to Christmas Day shooting

Posted: Updated:

A man was shot multiple times at a home in Logan County on Christmas Day.

Now deputies are searching for the person they believe is responsible.

They are looking for 18-year-old Mack Brumfield.  Deputies say Brumfield got into a fight with his girlfriend.  She called her aunt for help.  Her aunt arrived with the girl's stepfather.  That is when, according to deputies, the stepfather and Brumfield got into a physical fight. Witnesses and the victim both told deputies Brumfield then pulled out a revolver and fired several times.

Neighbors described a shocking scene outside of the house on Sun Catcher Street.

They say people came running out of the house covered in blood.

One neighbor said a woman ran to her house and asked to call 911 for help.

"Me and a friend of mine come up the hill and the next thing I know state troopers were behind us and a woman had blood on her shirt saying someone got shot," described neighbor Dewayne Bryant.

Another neighbor, Dave Adkins, says he was having Christmas with his grandchildren when he saw deputies outside with their guns in hand.

"The law had guns out and everything," Adkins explained. "I had to put my grand kids in the house and make them stay there all evening. It has kind of spooked us a little bit."

Brumfield is still on the loose. He is considered armed and dangerous.
