It will still be some time before a new Boone Memorial Hospital is open and ready for patients.
However, the hospital administrator says things are moving quickly.
The entire project is set to cost over $34 million.
There is still a great deal of fundraising to do, but they have received approval for a significant loan.
Currently work is underway to submit the necessary paperwork for some of the funding. Architects are also working to draw up some of the plans.
According to their website, Boone Memorial Hospital opened in 1964. Since then they have grown the number of patients treated and the number of services available at the facility.
