Athens County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting that happened Friday morning in a home on E. Kasler Creek in Amesville, OH.

According to deputies, family members called 911 when a 44-year-old relative shot his dog with an AK-47 and then refused to put the gun down.

Deputies called the Special Response Team and said the suspect's brother and sister were at the house. The shooter let the sister leave the house, the brother continued trying to talk the suspect into putting his gun down and walking out of the house.

The suspect remained at the kitchen window with his finger on the trigger. Almost two hours after the initial call, the Special Response Team made contact with the male and secured him without incident.

No arrests were made.
