Diabetes is a significant concern in West Virginia. One group in the southern part of the state is planning to tackle the problem.
The Logan County Diabetes Coalition will have a meeting Tuesday at the Chief Logan Recreational Center. They will be selecting leadership for the group and planning what projects they will work on in 2013.
The group is planning to address, among other things, the need for more physical activity in residents daily lives.
The coalition received a $2000 planning grant for emerging diabetes coalitions in Appalachia and a $4000 grant from Marshall University.
The meeting starts at 11 a.m.
