A video has resurfaced that is related to the Steubenville rape case, which has caught the attention of certain hacktivist groups.

The video was posted on YouTube of a male juvenile reportedly on the night of the alleged incident. The video was first under the user name Mark Bacchus. #Knightsec, who claims to have hacked rollredroll.com, posted the link to the information on his twitter account.

Two Steubenville High School football players are accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl. The allegations surfaced in the summer of 2012 and police began an investigation. The two suspects have been charged and are expected to stand trial in juvenile court in February.

This case has put public officials in Jefferson County, Ohio in the spotlight, including Steubenville Police Chief Bill McCafferty. McCafferty released a statement regarding the recent events that have occurred. The statement reads:

"The Steubenville police department has been aware of this recent video that was released. Since late August 2012 the subject who made the video was interviewed. This has all been turned over to the prosecutors which are the Ohio Attorney Generals Office, who is prosecuting this case. It's always been the policy of the Steubenville Police Department not to make comments on details of a case prior to it going to trial. I know this is frustrating for some. I can't change that now, as you know this is a high profile case and for the parties interested I believe I should not make a comment on it because I can't make a comment on it. It's being handled by an outside agency."

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine also spoke regarding the case. DeWine mentioned that this case is of utmost importance.

"We understand how important this case is," said DeWine. "This is one of the most important cases to us. Our goal is to find out exactly what happened and to prosecute those who are involved."

DeWine continued, stating he hopes the public understands that his mission and that of his office is to find the truth.

""What I hope people will understand is that we go at this case, and go at this investigation from an impartial point of view, we simply want to find the truth. And we're gather all the information that there is," DeWine said. "We fully understand the importance to the community in making sure that the truth comes out and that we know exactly what's going on."

The Office of the Ohio Attorney General is requesting the public's help. If anyone has any information they are urged to call the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 1-800-224-6446 or 1-800-BCI-OHIO.

The frenzy has also attracted the attention of CNN, the Huffington Post and the New York Times.
