CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Organizers hope West Virginia's
inauguration ceremony and surrounding festivities will all be about the
Mountain State.
West Virginia First is the theme for Jan. 14, when Gov. Earl
Ray Tomblin will take his oath after winning a full term as the state's chief
executive.
The 1 p.m. inaugural ceremony is scheduled for the south
steps of the state Capitol. The state's five other elected executive branch
officials will also be sworn in.
A public reception will follow in the Great Hall of the
nearby Culture Center. There's also an invitation-only gala slated for 7 p.m.
at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences.
That reception will feature 10 musical acts from around the
state. Organizers say the menu will embrace West Virginia favorites as well.
