A man barely escaped with his life after the semi-truck he was working on caught fire.

It happened at Western Branch Diesel in South Charleston on Tuesday.

The man was doing repairs to the truck and had walked away from it when it caught fire.

Officials are still trying to determine what started the blaze.

There is some damage to the building, but fire officials said it could have been much worse.

The building was made of brick and the sprinkle system kicked on avoiding major damage to the structure, officials said.

The South Charleston Police Dept. and the South Charleston Fire Dept. responded to the fire.

No one was injured.
