A Fayette County man is in custody following a burglary in the Kilsythe area.
Deputies say a neighbor called 911 around 8 p.m. Tuesday when they saw a suspicious male on the front porch of a house on Kilsythe Road. The caller added that the owner of the house was out of town and that no one should be there.
While deputies were en route, the caller told 911 the suspicious male had gone into the house. When deputies arrived, they found the man had climbed through an unlocked window. The suspect was apprehended with the use of a Fayette County Sheriff's Dept. K-9 Unit Apprehension Dog.
Kenneth Jesse James, 52, of Mount Hope, was arrested on a felony burglary charge, and transported to Southern Regional Jail to await arraignment.
Sheriff Kessler stated "Our K-9 Teams are an extremely valuable asset to our law enforcement community. In this particular case, the K-9 Unit's apprehension dog was able to subdue and restrain the burglary suspect so that the deputy sheriff could safely place him in custody without further incident".
Fayette County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
