Investigators have named a preliminary cause in the case of three fires at the same housing complex.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office said on Wednesday that all three fires at the Indian Head townhouses in St. Albans were caused by electrical shortages.
Those fires happened during a 24-hour period on Monday, January 7.
American Electric Power is reported to be monitoring the meters. Workers will be checking for spikes in power from the pole to the meter, according to AEP officials.
