Concerns over a potential gas leak forced school officials in Kanawha County to take precautions on Tuesday afternoon.
Some parents asked 13News to look into the situation. Here's what our reporters discovered.
Kevin Lilly, the Assistant Principal at Cedar Grove Middle School, said that the middle school students evacuated the building at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday as a precaution.
Middle school students and staff were taken to a designated area outside of the school, according to Lilly, while the incident was checked out.
Columbia Gas and Kanawha County school officials confirmed that there was not a gas leak.
The students at Cedar Grove Elementary School had already been dismissed for the day so they were no involved in the precautionary evacuation.
