Food pantry brings help to Lawrence County, Ohio

The Huntington area food bank will distribute food to those who are in need in Lawrence County, Ohio through its monthly mobile pantry program. 

The distribution center will be at New Hope United Methodist Church in Proctorville.  Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the food distribution will begin at 10 a.m. 

According to the Feeding America report, more than 12,000 Lawrence County residents lived in poverty in 2010 or nearly 20 percent of the county's population.

Only residents of Lawrence County will be allowed to receive food at the mobile pantry. 

Recipients of food must provide proof of residency at the time of registration in order to receive food.

Individuals who are picking up food for someone else must provide the food recipient's proof of residency as well as a notarized permission slip from the food recipient.
