    Kanawha County resident Stephen Wayne Laton Jr., 40, admitted he possessed images and videos of children in pornographic situations, including a video of one of his relatives, a minor female relative which he had shot himself.

A West Hamlin woman who robbed the Teays Valley Center nursing home while disguised in a clown mask was sentenced to 10 years in prison Jan. 10.

Morgan Marie Mullins appeared before U.S. District Judge Thomas Johnston for her charges stemming from two robberies in 2012.

In one robbery, Mullins took controlled substances from her employer, the Teays Valley Center. Donning a clown mask, Mullins entered the center May 2 through a window in the shower, court documents state.

According to the stipulation of facts, Mullins attempted to disguise her voice and brandished a pistol at employees.

Later that month, Mullins stole approximately $3,003 from the City National Bank in West Hamlin while wearing a black hat pulled over her face.

The stipulation of facts states bank employees recognized Mullins' voice because she was a regular customer at the bank. They also recognized her truck, which was parked outside at the time of the robbery, court documents continued.

Mullins originally was charged in a six-count indictment but pleaded guilty Aug. 8 to three counts: interfering with commerce by threats and violence, using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence and armed bank robbery.
