A string of suspicious fires from May of 2011 to June of 2012 had neighbors in Summersville concerned for their property and for their safety.
The Huntington Fire Dept. began accepting applications to become a probationary firefighter today.
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and be between the ages of 18 and 35 with a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license.
The applications can be picked up in the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, which is located at 800 Fifth Ave. and must be returned by 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12.
Applicants will need to take a written and physical exam.
