The Huntington Fire Department is investigating a blaze at a home in Guyandotte on Tuesday evening.
The call came in to the Cabell County 911 center just before 7 p.m.
When crews arrived at the house on Everett Street in Guyandotte they said flames had taken over the home.
No one was home at the time the fire began according to crews at the scene.
The fire started downstairs according to the Huntington Fire Department and the home sustained heavy smoke, water and fire damage.
Crews had a tough time battling the blaze and said the nearest fire hydrant was two blocks away.
