    For the first time the United States Softball Team paid a visit to Morgantown. Members of the Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau were excited to see a packed house of 1,200 people come out for the double header.

    Wheeling will celebrate the Upper Ohio Valley's rich ethnic heritage with a Multicultural Festival Sunday, June 29, on the waterfront. 
    Wheeling will celebrate the Upper Ohio Valley's rich ethnic heritage with a Multicultural Festival Sunday, June 29, on the waterfront. 

The West Virginia Dance Company will perform at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Metropolitan Theatre in Morgantown.

Since 1977, the WVDC has toured throughout West Virginia, as well as 14 other states. It is the state's only professional touring dance company.

Among other concert works, the dance company will perform "The Bottomland" by choreographer Doug Varone. The piece celebrates Appalachian heritage and is set to the music of Patty Loveless. It tells a story of loneliness, isolation, comfort and community.

The performance is open to the public. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster or by calling 304-293-SHOW. Seating is general admission and tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, $10 for students, and $8 for children.
