A Huntington man was arrested after trying to rob a CVS Pharmacy.
Brandon Lee Skaggs, 26, was taken into custody by Huntington Police Officers in the pharmacy minutes after the robbery was reported around 5:20 p.m.
The caller told dispatchers that Skaggs entered the store and brandished a box cutter at the store personnel. Police report that all employees were able to leave the store and leave Skaggs locked inside.
When officers arrived, they located Skaggs in the pharmacy area where a brief struggle with police happened before he was taken into custody.
Skaggs was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital for treatment of a drug overdose. Police say it is believed Skaggs may have ingested drugs prior to entering the pharmacy.
