An investigation has led to 13 students at West Carter High School, located in Olive Hill, KY, facing criminal charges after a rash of false bomb and gun threats at school.

The 13 juvenile students face charges of making felony terroristic threats.

The students involved were seen by the school's security camera system. The threats happened this week and last week at the Carter County school.

According to the Olive Hill Police Dept., five of the students are already being held in juvenile centers.  Charges are still pending in many of the cases and the investigation is ongoing.

If convicted, the students could face 45 to 120 days in a juvenile detention center depending on the charge.

More students from the middle school will also be charged.

The investigation began when West Carter High School received threats, the first being a bomb threat and the second being a student bringing a weapon to the school.

No weapon or bomb was found in either investigation, but the threats lead to the high school being evacuated and other schools in the area being placed on lock down.
