Firefighters had to rescue two teenagers on Wednesday afternoon after they drove their truck through high water in Kanawha County.

It happened at about 4:45 p.m. when a road flooded in the Lakewood area of Tornado.

A red Ford Ranger truck got stuck in the water on Ferrell Road. The teens told firefighters that they were unfamiliar with the area, saw the water, but did not realize how deep it was.

Firefighters with the Lakewood Fire Department were able to wade up to the vehicle and rescue the girls.

No one was hurt, but emergency personnel are warning people not to drive through standing water.
