Winter enthusiasts
will be gathering for a "Remembering the Good Ole Days" Jan. 18-20, 2013,
during the annual Winter Wonder Weekend at North Bend
State Park.
Old-timey
activities will include crafts, games, pie auction and a carnival. Outdoor
winter sports will include sleigh riding (weather permitting), hikes and other
activities.

Friday activities
include crafts, park tour, dinner and a "Stroll Down Memory Lane" presentation by Bill Beatty of Wellsburg.
The evening ends with live classic rock and contemporary music provided by
Stepping Stone band from Bridgeport.
The weekend
continues Saturday with a winter hike, scrapbooking, a trip to Harrisville and bingo.
An old-fashioned carnival is featured on Saturday evening with games including
blackjack, milk bottle toss and dime pitch. A pie auction follows the carnival.
Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite pies to be auctioned by
Rock Wilson. All proceeds from the pie auction will be donated to the North
Bend State Park Foundation for the tree planting program at Cokeley Campground.
Sunday begins with
an 8:30 a.m. devotional presented by Jonathan, Sara and Sam Summers and another
"Remembering the Good Ole Days" program. Someday, this weekend will be "the
good ole days."
The weekend
package is $138 per person based on double occupancy. Single reservations will
be accepted at a cost of $163. The package includes two nights lodging in the
lodge or a cabin, five delicious full meals, and registration fee that includes
a craft, door prizes and all weekend activities. Lodging for children under age
12 is free.
Located near Cairo
in Ritchie County, North Bend is easily accessible from U.S. 50, which
stretches from Parkersburg to Clarksburg.
