CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A murdered West Virginia trooper's passion of the outdoors is living on after him.

Trooper Eric Workman was remembered as an avid hunter and angler after he and Cpl. Marshall Bailey were gunned down in August. Workman was 26.

An upcoming episode of "Fly Rod Chronicles with Curtis Fleming" is meant to honor both men while also paying tribute to Workman's love for the outdoors.

The Outdoor Channel program draws nearly 1 million viewers per episode and is now in its seventh season. The host, Fleming, is a West Virginia native.

Family of both slain troopers were expected to attend a special Friday screening of the episode at the West Virginia Culture Center. It will air nationally next week.

The state Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the program this season.
