Customers of the Huntington Sanitary Board will see new bills mailed to their residences beginning January 22.
The sewer charges used to be added to customers' water bills.
However, West Virginia American Water has decided to end third party billing services for sewer utilities. The change affects 20 utilities in West Virginia.
The Sanitary Board has opted to handle billing on its own rather than enter into a third party agency.
The board will send bills to its 22,000 customers over a month long period instead of at once.
