Huntington City Mission continues to fly white flag for safe haven

Posted: Updated:

As temperatures continue to drop, workers at the Huntington City Mission say all are welcome to come in and stay warm.

The mission offers three hot meals a day and is open for shelter to anyone who needs a refuge from the cold.

The white flag flies over the building signifying that the doors are open any time temperatures drop below 41 degrees.

Workers say they want people to be safe.

"We want to make sure everyone can come in and be warm so our doors are open for you" Mission worker Lynn Clagg said.

The mission also has an abundance of winter coats to give away, some of which were donated by football star Randy Moss.
