A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
A man is on the run and considered armed and dangerous according to authorities with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
A Boone County man was arrested around 10:30 a.m. for threats of terrorist acts.
According to a release sent to 13 News, Herman Dewayne Pickens, 53, of Peytona was arrested for entering Sherman Elementary School in Comfort, WV several times and making specific threats concerning a firearm, to the school staff.
Corporal B.G. Browning encountered Pickens inside the school on Jan. 23 and saw that Pickens had a firearm holster on his belt. Pickens also had a folding knife which is prohibited on school grounds. A loaded .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun was found in Picken's vehicle which was parked close to school property.
According to the release, at least two times this month Pickens entered the school and made threats about not leaving his gun the next time he came to the school.
Pickens was arraigned this afternoon and was given a $100,000 property bond.
