LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in southwest Ohio have charged a former police officer with keeping money from a golf tournament meant to benefit the family of a deputy killed during a high-speed chase.
Warren County Sheriff Larry Sims says former Morrow police officer Ryan Hunt has been charged with theft. Deputy Brian Dulle (DOO'-lee) was killed in 2011 when hit while putting down stop sticks to try to halt a stolen car driven by Marcus Isreal. The man is serving 25 years to life in prison.
WLWT in Cincinnati reports (http://bit.ly/114Os1L ) that Hunt organized a memorial golf tournament, but kept $4,600 raised. Investigators say he finally gave nearly all the money to the family's fund after they opened their case.
He will be arraigned Wednesday. There was no phone listing for him available.
