A woman on Huntington's south side had a close encounter with a man who walked right up to the door of the home she was watching and insisted that he had to come inside to fix something, according to police.
A woman on Huntington's south side had a close encounter with a man who walked right up to the door of the home she was watching and insisted that he had to come inside to fix something, according to police.
A Proctorville man could spend up to four decades behind bars.
Zachary Daniel Matasich, 21, received the 40 year prison sentence. Matasich had pleaded guilty to first degree robbery. It was the sole count of his September 2012 indictment.
It all stemmed from a May 30 robbery and beating at an apartment building in the 600 block of 9th Street.
Initial court documents charged Matasich with beating the victim and using an object to crush bones in his face, causing blunt trauma to the victim's head.
Police found the victim days after the incident unconscious on the floor of his 12th floor apartment.
His wallet and cellphone and vehicle were missing.
Police arrested matasich two later in Knoxville, Tennessee.
