A Morgantown attorney is recovering at home after police say he was attacked by a fellow lawyer in the Marion County courthouse.

Scott Radman, a partner at Meyer, Ford, Glasser & Radman, was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he stayed for a few days. Radman suffered fractures and other serious injuries.

According to WBOY-TV, the Marion County Sheriff's Department arrested Morgantown resident Stephen Sean Murphy and charged him with malicious assault.

The 45-year-old attorney was released on a $10,000 bond.

"He was hurt pretty badly but he's healing up. We are hearing from colleagues and friends all around the state inquiring how he's doing. They also are sending a lot of cards to him," said Michael Glasser, another partner with the firm.

Radman, who runs the Morgantown office, practices criminal and personal injury law. He has been an attorney since 1998.

"He was born, raised and lived his whole life in Morgantown," Glasser said. "He's well-known and a very well-liked member of the community. We've seen that with all the well-wishes and calls we've got from everyone."

"We hope he gets better quickly and fully recovers from this," he added.
