An employee at the Cabell-Wayne Animal Shelter reported that someone forced entry into the shelter.
The shelter reported that someone broke out a glass pane in the door of the shelter on James River Road.
The incident happened sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
Police say that it appears the suspect tried to pry open three different filing cabinets as well as the drawer of a cash register in the building.
