UPDATE: Suspect turns himself in to Charleston Police after Impulse nightclub stabbing

UPDATE:

Charleston Police have confirmed that Aris Hairston, a suspect in the stabbing at Impulse Nightclub, turned himself in on Friday night.

He was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. Hairston was charged with one county of malicious wounding according to the criminal complaint. His bond was set at $25,000.

 


 

ORIGINAL:

Charleston Police said charges have been dropped against a man they originally thought stabbed a teen outside of a popular nightclub.

Detective said Roland Willis was misidentified as the person who stabbed University of Charleston football player Kevin Clemens, 18.

Now, police are looking for Aris Hairston, the man they believe stabbed Clemens outside of Impulse Nightclub over the weekend.

Willis has been released from the South Central Regional Jail.

The Alcohol Beverage Control Administration has suspended the club's liquor license for 10 days.

The city of Charleston said it will also revoke the club's business permit.
