Police in Parkersburg are trying to solve an unusual burglary.
It happened about a little before 2:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers got a call about an alarm going off at the Certified gas station on Dupont Road. When they arrived, officers found the front doors had been busted out, according to a news release from the Parkersburg Police Department.
Investigators reviewed video surveillance footage that revealed a vehicle, possibly a SUV, backed up to the front doors of the store. The glass was then busted out with multiple suspects entering the store. A chain was wrapped around the ATM which was then pulled loose by the vehicle. The suspects then loaded the ATM into the vehicle and left the area, perhaps west on Route 95. According the time stamp on the surveillance footage, the crime was completed in less than two minutes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Parkersburg Police Department at 304-424-8444. Anonymous tips can also be left at the department's website.
